A Revealing Look at Students and Mobile Payment Technology

For a generation that grew up with smartphones in their hands, it makes perfect sense that mobile payments are gaining popularity with today’s college students. According to Barnes & Noble College research, 44 percent of students say they are interested in using mobile pay more frequently in the future and 62 percent of students say retailers who accept mobile payments are forward thinking.


One thing is clear: Mobile payment is in a period of innovative change and while Millennials will likely lead the way with this new form of payment, the next generation of students, Generation Z, is going to drive mobile payment innovation in the future.
