Fashion Trends on Campus

April 19, 2011

Fashion Trends on CampusIt’s (finally) time to say goodbye to winter and put away those down jackets, gloves, and scarves. Barnes & Noble College bookstores have the hot spring fashions that students want on campuses nationwide!

This season, our bookstores are closing out the 2010-2011 school year with two of our students’ favorite fashion trends: Tri-blend fabric t-shirts and deep-v-neck tees.

Tri-Blend Fabric Tees

Those who know fashion know the ultra-soft and comfy fabric called tri-blend. Fashion retailers such as American Apparel, Abercrombie & Fitch, and American Eagle, as well as major sports brands have entire lines made from this friendly-feel fabric. Made from a blend of polyester, cotton, and rayon (hence the name tri-blend), these supple t-shirts are showing up on college campuses everywhere.

Tri-blend tops often have a very tapered fit – but always feel incredible. The fabric moves easily with the wearer and the two-way stretch offers a soft, cling-free drape for maximum comfort. Barnes & Noble College bookstores have already sold thousands of tri-blend items – and those numbers continue to climb!

Deep-V-Necks Still Popular

Worn by both men and women, we anticipate the deep-v-neck’s popularity will continue through the spring and summer months. This top-selling look will carry forward when cooler weather chills the air with long-sleeve options in the fall. The new deep-v designs typically show graphics that bleed over or are cut off by the neckline. Our JanSport deep-v tees reproduce this trend-right style on the Darcy v-neck, which is sold in most of our bookstores.

At Barnes & Noble College, we track the changing needs and expectations of our students to ensure our stores have the products and assortments they want throughout the year. Visit for a list of our school partners and to see the latest products available at your school’s bookstore.
