Bravo’s Andy Cohen Brings “The Clubhouse” to Barnes & Noble at FIT

May 24, 2012

Bravo TV executive Andy Cohen can’t stop talking about pop culture and his life-long love of television. The man behind Real Housewives, Top Chef and Bethenny Ever After shares a glimpse of his life and the behind-the-scenes world of reality television in his new book, Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture.

Dishy, funny and full of heart …

According to the publisher, the memoir is “dishy, funny, and full of heart,” and gives a “one-of-a-kind glimpse into the world of television, from a fan who grew up watching the screen and is now inside TV, both making shows and hosting his own.”

In only its third week of publication, Cohen’s memoir has hit number four on The New York Times bestsellers list and is flying off the shelves. A day after the book’s release, Cohen visited the Barnes & Noble at FIT bookstore for a book signing.

“We were so fortunate to have had this event in our store,” said Carla Oliver Bowens, bookstore manager. “Andy is a pop icon and this book signing was so much fun.”

Recreating the television set from Cohen’s no-holds-barred Watch What Happens Live show, the FIT bookstore transformed into Bravo’s Club House, complete with comfy chairs, disco ball, and fruit juice “shots.” Over three hundred fans showed up for a chance to sit in the FIT “club house,” have their book autographed and pose for a photo with Cohen.

In preparation for the book signing, Bowens distributed flyers throughout campus, posted on the bookstore’s Facebook page, and announced the event on FIT-TV, the school’s own television station.

“Andy was such a nice and friendly guy,” said Bowens. “He made every fan feel so welcome and stayed until everyone who came left with an autographed book. He even tweeted that he was coming to FIT, and afterward, tweeted that he had such a great time with us. Our students love these kinds of events, so we look for authors who can really connect with our school and community.”
