The number of international students attending U.S. colleges and universities has increased dramatically in recent years. In fact, they comprise a greater percentage of the overall U.S. student population than ever before, making it the number one destination for students seeking an international education. According to the Institute of International Education Open Doors Report, 4.8% of all students enrolled in U.S. colleges and universities are international students—and their numbers are growing. Last year, international student enrollment saw an increase of 10 percent over the previous year, making it the highest rate of growth in 35 years. For some schools, that trend is positive— increasing enrollment and revenue.
