Barnes & Noble College is proud to announce it has partnered with Southeast Arkansas College to operate its campus bookstore, located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The new agreement transferred management to Barnes & Noble on May 21, 2012.
The new bookstore will sell textbooks, course materials, emblematic clothing, supplies, gifts, and sundries. In addition, a number of new and innovative services focused on delivering cost savings and convenience will be introduced to students. What started off as a post-secondary vocational technical school, originally known as Arkansas Vocational-Technical School, has transformed through the years to meet the needs of local industry and provide jobs for the citizens of Jefferson, Cleveland, Desha, Drew, Grant and Lincoln counties. In 1991, the school was re-designated from a post-secondary school to a community college, and in 1998, officially changed its name to Southeast Arkansas College.
Often referred to as SEARK, Southeast Arkansas College prides itself in being a two-year associate degree college providing “community college education and services, with an emphasis on technical education and workforce development” to approximately 2,200 students each year.
Southeast Arkansas College is one of seven higher educational institutions that Barnes & Noble College operates in the state of Arkansas, including Hendrix College, Northwest Arkansas Community College, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
