Dartmouth College alumna Rachel Dratch will be visiting her alma mater on April 11, 6 – 7:30 p.m., to promote her new book, A Girl Walks Into a Bar… : Comedy Calamities, Dating Disasters, and a Midlife Miracle. The first-time author will be signing copies of her hilarious memoir at The Dartmouth Bookstore at 33 South Main Street, Hanover, N.H.
Best known for her roles as a cast member of Saturday Night Live (SNL) from 1999 to 2006, Dratch graduated from Dartmouth College in 1988, where she majored in drama and psychology and was a member of the improvisational comedy group, Said and Done.
In this uproarious autobiography, the comedic star describes the hilarious adventures and unexpected joy of dating and becoming a mother when she least expected it – at the age of forty-four.
Filled with great behind-the-scenes anecdotes from Dratch’s time on SNL, Girl Walks into a Bar is a refreshing version of the “happily ever after” story that proves female comics – like bestsellers Tina Fey and Chelsea Handler – have truly arrived.
The excitement and energy that Barnes & Noble brings to college and university campuses begins with our in-store initiatives. Last year, we hosted thousands of events across the country. Celebrity author signings, book readings, sampling programs, concerts, cooking demonstrations, and charitable events were just some of the programs that help make the bookstore an integral part of campus life.
