Barnes & Noble College is pleased to announce it has entered into an agreement with Solano Community College to operate its campus bookstore. The 5-year contract transferred management of the bookstore to Barnes & Noble on December 5.
“We’re proud to have formed this partnership with Solano Community College,” said Max J. Roberts, president, Barnes & Noble College. “Our retail excellence, outstanding customer service, and deep understanding of what students and colleges need will help us transform the bookstore into a vital part of the campus community.”
The bookstore will continue to sell clothing, supplies, gifts and sundries, and all current Solano bookstore employees will retain their jobs. In addition, a number of new and innovative services focused on delivering cost savings and convenience will be introduced to students. Barnes & Noble College has also taken a leadership position in the use of social media to connect with students. The Solano Community College bookstore will have its own locally managed Facebook page, Foursquare promotions, and an innovative word-of-mouth marketing program to help keep students connected to bookstore products, services, and special events.
