Last fall NOOKstudy, Barnes & Noble’s free eTextbook reader and study application for PC & Mac, became the nation’s most student-downloaded educational application. One reason for its tremendous success: the application was developed using ideas and insights from college students across the country. As a result of this success, we are now extending this approach as we launch the Barnes & Noble NOOKstudy Marketing Plan Contest.
Available to currently enrolled students at every higher education institution in the USA, the contest offers teams (comprised of 2-6 students) the opportunity to use their ingenuity and creativity to develop a comprehensive NOOKstudy marketing plan targeted towards college students. The marketing plan’s objective is to raise awareness of NOOKstudy’s remarkable features, time-saving benefits, and the substantial cost-savings available with eTextbooks.
Entries will be judged on creativity, feasibility, and the overall implementation strategy. Three teams of semi-finalists will travel to New York City to present their ideas to a panel of judges. The winning team will have their plan incorporated into future marketing efforts and each team member will receive an award-winning NOOK Color, along with an impressive accomplishment to add to their resume.
