East Stroudsburg University (ESU) is proud to announce it is partnering with Barnes & Noble College to manage The University Store, the official campus bookstore of the University. The store is scheduled to open March 30.
“The educational retail environment is changing very rapidly and has become intensely competitive,” said Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D., president of East Stroudsburg University. “Barnes & Noble has the experience, resources, and vision necessary to help us navigate the changing ways faculty and students use textbooks and other learning materials. They understand the importance we place on convenience, value, and choice and we are very excited about the innovative programs and opportunities they will offer in the areas of customer relations, technology, marketing and merchandising. This relationship will enable us to deliver services much more effectively and efficiently than we would be able to do on our own.”
East Stroudsburg students will enjoy a campus bookstore that reflects the East Stroudsburg brand, including a wide selection of school spirit apparel, award-winning NOOK® devices and other technology gadgets, as well as gifts for alumni, friends and family. Course materials will be offered in variety of options, including rental, digital, used and new formats, ensuring students have access to the options that best suit their needs.
“We are truly honored to have formed this new partnership with a university that provides students with a small college atmosphere distinguished by innovation and tradition,” said Max J. Roberts, President and CEO, Barnes & Noble College. “We are eager to bring a dynamic campus store to East Stroudsburg University, focused on delivering a retail and digital learning experience that complements the school’s mission of service, leadership and success in a global society.”
The new Barnes & Noble College campus bookstore will work closely with the East Stroudsburg University community to establish a strong social media presence on Facebook that reflects local events and promotions. In addition, the new bookstore team will reach out to both faculty and student organizations to ensure these groups are able to leverage the full resources the new bookstore has to offer.
The Barnes & Noble College transition team will ensure a seamless transition to ensure an optimal in-store and online shopping experience for the East Stroudsburg campus.
