2015 NACAS Annual Conference

Barnes & Noble College will join the nation’s largest auxiliary services support organization serving higher education at the 2015 National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) Annual Conference. This year’s meeting will be held November 1-4 at the Henry B. González Convention Center, located in San Antonio, Texas.

The NACAS Annual Conference attracts hundreds of attendees and exhibitors looking to share best practices and discuss opportunities and challenges facing today’s higher education professionals. Barnes & Noble College will join over 180 participating companies to share tomorrow’s solutions, and present new inspiration and ideas that will be discovered in the over 100 educational sessions held during the conference.

The Conference for Campus Innovation

As the needs and expectations of college and university students continue to expand and evolve, so too must the offerings of the campus bookstores that serve them. Barnes & Noble College will be part of the dialogue shaping the products and services that support higher education. Conference attendees will hear its knowledgeable team members weigh in on the latest and greatest in the industry during several educational sessions throughout the show.

Chosen for its demonstrated ability as an auxiliary services professional, Barnes & Noble College will present the following two sessions:

Research Equals Relevancy
Ann Kingsley, Director Student Life Administration, University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Lisa Malat, Vice President, Operations and Chief Marketing Officer, Barnes & Noble College

Consumers today are more resourceful than ever before, which means we must work even harder to remain relevant and meet the needs of students, faculty and campus communities. Attendees will learn how Barnes & Noble College utilizes a variety of research platforms to tap into the student and faculty mindset and identify new trends and behaviors, and how this data is used to shape everything from product selection to marketing. Attendees can also expect to:

  • Learn about multiple research platforms, including online research communities for students and faculty, surveys, panels and more.
  • Understand how research insights are turned into actionable strategies that drive business results.
  • Identify new Millennial trends and behaviors and understand how those trends impact the campus store.

Winning Back Faculty
Reginald Wade, Director of University Services, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi
Nicole Guerrieri, Director of Digital Education, Barnes & Noble College

Research indicates faculty are eager to form a relationship with the campus bookstore, both to ensure their students have access to the most affordable course materials and to maximize efficiency. Attendees will learn how to cement these important faculty relationships by creating a complete support system for faculty, beyond adoption. This helps enable faculty to drive student success, while also ensuring that the campus store is their first choice for course materials. Attendees can also expect to:

  • Gain an understanding of faculty needs, gathered from Barnes & Noble College’s unique online faculty research panel, as it relates to both adoption and driving student success.
  • Understand how Barnes & Noble College’s faculty initiatives are strategically developed to meet these needs, thereby driving adoptions and enhancing relationships.
  • Learn about the new enhancements and initiatives designed to further support faculty.

Attendees are encouraged to stop by Booth #702 to learn more about how Barnes & Noble College is delivering what’s next on over 725 campuses by diversifying course material options to increase savings; building deep connections to students, faculty and alumni; and creating shopping destinations, both online and in-store. In addition to exhibiting, Barnes & Noble College is proud to serve as this year’s Platinum Sponsor of the NACAS Annual Conference to recognize the organization’s hard work and creativity in connecting the industry’s auxiliary service providers with its higher education professionals.
