Barnes & Noble College Leads Choice, Convenience and Savings for Students
August 14, 2012
Students heading back to campus for the new school year will see dramatic savings and convenience on new, used, rental and eTextbooks (both rental and purchase options) at over 700 Barnes & Noble College campus stores. Whether print or digital, in-store or online, students will benefit from choice, convenience and cost savings with a range of textbook options and study aids that will fit their needs:
Textbook Rentals – With major savings of more than 50%, rental textbooks are an increasingly popular option with students: fully 99% say they would rent again from their Barnes & Noble College campus store. Students may rent books either in the campus bookstore or from the bookstore’s website, and have them prepackaged for pick-up when they arrive on campus, reducing the need to pay shipping costs or wait for their books to arrive in the mail.
Used Books – Students who buy used textbooks save an immediate 25%, but their savings can jump to 75% if the books are being used for the upcoming semester and they sell them back to their Barnes & Noble College bookstore at the semester’s end.
eTextbooks in NOOK Study™ – Students can save up to 60% on the purchase or rental of eTextbooks and have instant access to more than 2.5 million eBooks and eTextbooks on this revolutionary free application designed to help students organize everything needed to study on their Mac or PC (and soon for the iPad). With NOOK Study, students can markup with highlights, take notes and bookmark digital content in a way that makes sense to them, and study more efficiently.
Last year, the 4.5 million higher education students Barnes & Noble College campus stores serve saved nearly $250 million on textbook purchases and rentals. The company predicts that number to expand during the 2012-2013 academic year thanks to these savings opportunities.
